Privacy policy

Note: The entries marked PLATZHALTER must be completed before regular operation.

This page is a translation. The German version is legally binding.

In brief

This website is a purely static site. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking services, loads no fonts or scripts from third-party servers, and contains no contact or login forms. When you visit, technically necessary server log data arises; beyond that, no personal data is collected.

1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

PLATZHALTER – name or company name PLATZHALTER – address Email: PLATZHALTER

2. Hosting and server log data

The website is operated on a server at PLATZHALTER – hosting provider and location.

When a page is opened, the web server automatically stores data in a log file:

  • the IP address of the requesting device

  • date and time of access

  • the requested address (URL) and HTTP status code

  • the amount of data transferred

  • the referring page (referrer), if transmitted

  • browser type and operating system (user agent)

3. No cookies

This website sets no cookies. No consent is requested because there is nothing to consent to.

4. No local storage

This website also stores nothing on your device outside of cookies: neither in local storage nor in session storage. There are no display settings and no light/dark toggle that would need saving.

The search processes your input exclusively in your browser. For this, the search page loads a file containing the titles and texts of the published articles; the search term you enter is not sent to the server and is not stored anywhere. It only appears in your browser’s address bar so that a search result can be linked.

The search page additionally offers this search as an interface for AI assistants running in your browser (WebMCP). This route also stays entirely local: the query does not leave your browser, no connection to us or to third parties is made, and we learn neither of the query nor that an assistant was involved. You alone decide in your browser settings whether any assistant may use this interface, and which.

5. Fonts and external content

All fonts used (Newsreader, Archivo, IBM Plex Mono) are delivered from this server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or other external providers. Your IP address is not passed to any third party in the process.

The website embeds no external scripts, no maps, no videos and no social media elements. The Share button under articles does not call any third-party service either: it opens your device’s share menu or copies the address to the clipboard.

6. Linked websites

This website contains links to third-party websites. When you click such a link, you leave our site; the provider of the destination page is responsible for the data processing there. Please note the respective privacy policy.

7. Contact by email

If you write us an email, we process the data you provide (sender address, name, content of the message) in order to handle your enquiry.

Please note that unencrypted emails could be read by third parties in transit.

8. RSS feeds

The RSS feeds offered are delivered like any other page. When they are retrieved, the details under point 2 apply. A feed reader that polls regularly produces correspondingly regular log entries.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the data stored about you (Article 15)

  • rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16)

  • erasure (Article 17)

  • restriction of processing (Article 18)

  • data portability (Article 20)

  • object to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21)

To exercise these rights, contact the address given above.

Independently of this, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR), in particular the authority of your habitual residence or of the controller’s seat.

10. No automated decision-making

No automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR takes place.

11. Changes to this policy

We will adapt this privacy policy if the technical implementation of the website or the legal requirements change. The version published here is the applicable one.
